Acute purulent infection may be masked or activity enhanced. Routinely monitor IOP if used for ≥10 days. Use w/ caution in the presence of glaucoma. The use of steroids after cataract surgery may delay healing & increase the incidence of bleb formation. May prolong the course & may exacerbate the severity of many viral ocular infections (eg, herpes simplex); frequent slit lamp microscopy is recommended.
